Under a WasteSorted funding grant from the Waste Authority of WA, Level5Design has developed an on-site toolbox education program in Construction and Demolition (C&D) waste and resource recovery to facilitate better recovery, sorting, and transfer of C&D waste materials for reuse in regional roads and other local infrastructure.
The toolbox information specifically targets those in the C&D industry, contractors, product suppliers, builders, local government etc. and discusses the benefits from cost savings and reduced risk to environmental footprint reduction. Level5Design has recently delivered a number of sessions throughout the South West and the toolkit can be found here. Our Managing Director, Peter Damen gave an interview to the ABC to highlight the importance of the toolbox information. Click on the picture below to listen to the interview. The EMRC’s Circular Economy Masterclass was held from the 9th – 11th June 2021 at Optus Stadium! The event, hosted by EMRC in collaboration with Circular Economy Alliance Australia (CEAA) and global and national experts, was specifically tailored to inspire agency and local government leaders in WA to start the thought process, planning and actions towards a Circular Economy.
Our Managing Director, Peter Damen, was invited to talk about “Achieving a Circular Economy through Infrastructure Delivery”. He presented a new philosophy of Towards100 where we must ask ourselves ‘why not’ rather than why? The presentation can be viewed on our ‘Pavements, Assets, Innovative Materials, Waste Management and Sustainability’ page on our website. EMRC CEO Marcus Geisler and other guest speakers discussed topics ranging from water management, energy, waste and infrastructure, the differences they will make for the WA Circular Economy, and the importance of the Circular Economy in local government and business. The three day Masterclass was sponsored by the WA State Government through funding from the Waste Authority Waste Sorted Program. Level5Design's Managing Director, Peter Damen appeared as a guest speaker on day one of the Circular Economy Masterclass held yesterday, addressing the audience about achieving a Circular Economy through Infrastructure Delivery.
The Masterclass was specifically tailored to inspire agency and local government leaders to start the debate, thought process, planning and actions on the Circular Economy. Launched by Eastern Metropolitan Regional Council and with funding from the Waste Authority WasteSorted Program, the event helped people to be better informed, be connected and to understand the opportunities of a true circular economy system approach. A copy of the presentation Peter gave on the day can be found here. A copy of the program can be found here or click on the flyer image below. |
