What's in a Name?
We often get questions such as "where does your company name come from?" or "what does the name actually mean?"
It is simple really. transport technology and innovation is core to the DNA of our organisation. We live and breathe it. If there is a better way of doing something that will be more effective then we want to be the first to know about it, and to be in a position to advise our clients on it.
Level 5 is the highest level of operation of an automated vehicle as defined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE).
We adopted the words "Level 5" to recognise that we are national experts on connected and automated vehicles and other emerging transport and infrastructure technologies, and that we will always strive to be the very best and the most knowledgeable in that space. But it is more than that. We do more than talk about it. We want to see great projects implemented. We want to help our customers achieve real beneficial outcomes from harnessing the knowledge that we supply. And we can give our greatest value through contributing to smarter solutions and more innovative designs. Hence the importance of the word "Design" in our name. It is a critical element of the innovation process and highlights the breadth of our role which ideally starts at vision and strategy and extends through to design and implementation.

Do you go by any other name?
Absolutely! To make life easier we use 'Level5Design' or often we use the short 'L5D' trading name for the company. Feel free to refer to us as L5D if it makes it easier for you also...
Where does your Logo come from?
The very colourful Level5Design logo has a deeper meaning. It is in the shape of a box representing a modern shared car park with the 5 different colours representing 5 primary wayfinding colours. The design aims to reflect some of our core competencies including parking, traffic management, innovative materials, sustainability and emerging technologies.
