We are excited to pe a part of another Innovation Australia Summit in August, with Level 5 Design's Managing Director, Peter Damen, as MC/Moderator.
The Mining Industry Emerging Products Innovation Summit hosted by Innovate Australia brings together leading mining experts, environmental scientists, and policy influencers. The Summit will explore cutting-edge technologies and methodologies to re-use and transform mining tailings into valuable products. Focusing on the sustainability and circular economy within the mining sector, the event aims to highlight the effective strategies for tailings management, resource recovery and environmental rehabilitation. This event by Innovate Australia marks a crucial step in promoting environmental stewardship and operational efficiency in the global mining landscape. The $160 million development received the green light to add Towers 3 and 4 to the Burswood Peninsula. The development near Belmont Racecourse will include 204 apartments across the two towers and 385 parking bays.
It is great to see another of our community-based projects approved by the development assessment panel. The multi-million-dollar proposal to build an assisted living centre near Rockingham, for people living with neurological conditions was unanimously approved.
The 12-unit development will provide safe residences to those with multiple sclerosis and other neurological conditions. Well done to those on the Level5Design team who recently supported this project! We are very pleased to announce that once again we will be working with Austroads, this time over the next 2 years, to support road managers to obtain accurate insights into current usage of their road networks for a range of different vehicle types and active transport modes. This includes obtaining valueable insights on the utilisation of evolving data collection technologies such as advanced video capture and analysis and AI. This major project also has an objective to identify suitable solution(s) for bicycle and micromobility detection systems at traffic signalised intersections. The project involves the field testing and analysis of proof-of-concepts for vehicle and non-vehicle classifications and the development of an updated Australian and NZ road classification scheme and guidelines. It builds on a previous L5D project we conducted with Austroads to develop the Austroads-23 classifications scheme - see AP-R695-23 | Austroads for a freely downloadable copy of the report.
The way we use our road networks and the vehicles and people travelling on them are continually changing. The project will enable road managers to adopt a uniform, consistent and up to date approach to the way we classify users of our road systems across Australia and New Zealand. |
