Updated earthworks specification for the Public Transport Authority

Level5Design has been working closely with the Public Transport Authority (PTA) over the past 2.5 years on the review and update of its earthwork's specification.

We are pleased to announce that the PTA has now finalised and publicly released the updated earthworks specification, which became available for industry use last month.

Notable sustainability outcomes included in the updated specification include allowances for up to 45% recovered high-density materials (such as crushed recycled concrete, brick and tile) in general fill, as well as minimum recycled content requirements of 20% in many geosynthetic products.

We welcome the release of this specification and look forward to seeing these sustainability improvements adopted more widely across future PTA projects and the broader transport infrastructure sector.
